In the 1970s, Alfredo Miralles Pérez set up Frutas La Ballena in order to grow, package and sell Vinalopó table grapes. As well as becoming one of the first companies in the area to export its goods, it was the first in Vinalopó to commit to seedless varieties. Following the generational handover in the company and the commitment to the new Uvasdoce brand, La Ballena became the company’s more traditional line. In 2012, the La Ballena Gourmet line of products for more demanding markets increased the range. Now, in 2016, La Ballena is updating its image to suit new tendencies but without losing touch with its traditional and artisan side. As with the Uvasdoce brand, it has a wide range of formats that adapt to its customers’ needs.
